Tomorrow, Thursday and Friday are supposed to be gorgeous around here. I hope those people aren't lying. Man I can't wait to open these windows and let this place really air out for a couple days. It has been at least a month of non-stop AC. Non-stop. I'm pretty excited about this.

The electric bill is going to top 300 bucks this month!

Just 3 days of relief would be peachy!

Just came yesterday. $278. I thought it would be $378. Bonus.

Thirty years ago I'd be out buying myself a new audio piece with the $100 I just found.

They didn't read my meter until yesterday.

I'll probably be able to view it online by the end of the week but this month's bill is going to come 1st week of August. The June bill was $178. The excessive heat didn't start until after that meter reading.

The gas bill has been stupid high too. They said it was a rate increase. But it's been 40% higher than it was last year. Dunno if there's a problem somewhere or it's a THANKS, OBAMA! moment.

They still reading the meter in Denial? The power company here installed remote reading meters a few years ago. Makes it easier for them but wasn't a very good deal for the meter readers.

You're not kidding George! Bring on the Fall! I'm ready for the low 60's to low 70's weather. Cut off the AC, no heat needed and open the windows. Too bad we still have the hottest month of the year to get through...August!
    No excuses!

I'm hundreds of miles above most of you (not tony) in Maine. And we almost never run A/C up here, heck most people don't even have A/C. But I must say that I've been living in my HT room the last week with my one A/C unit chugging away. It's been awful. And the humidity, unbearable.

Electric bills. Ours is usually HIGH and often higher than Jersey because, as I understand it, we contribute or participate in the Boston grid and we kinda "subsidize" the poorer Boston metro area (whose jobs are low paying and cost of living so much LOWER than ours, lol) so that we often pay more than the average Bostonian does for the very same service. Have to love the competition!

Windows are open at this point. And thank god for those cool Maine nights!
