In response to loud and clear....yes, I think I have changed my mind somewhat. I would like to have the ability to go with home theatre someday, though for right now, I'm only interested in music. Guess I just want to retain the flexability....

Music and HT go hand and hand. I perfer multi channel music anyhow.
HINT: DVD players also play cd's.;) -
I'm a 2-channel fanatic and have NO interest in multi-channel music. I'm quite pleased with simply running my DVD through my stereo system.
I may one day build a Home Theater system, but my 2-channel system will be separate, and always get top-billing when it comes to funds.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -

I've heard this from so many people.. but once they listen to a well mixed multichannel recording.. somehow their minds usually change hee hee hee.
I appreciate both formats for what they are.. entertainment. I love my Marantz stereo CD player.. hooked up to the awesome tube DAC. It sounds amazing. It's so open, airy and has a really nice soundstage to it.. that it envelops you in sound.. I never knew stereo music had so much openness to it.
But
I also really like the mix on some DVD-a discs as well. Both can and do have a place in my house. I don't like one format over the other. i like them both equally well.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
