Help with iTunes library to feed analog inputs

I have discovered that to use multiroom audio with my received that I need to have the audio via an analog source. I guess the D/A converters can only feed one Zone at a time. I want to play music from iTunes library in multiple zones at the same time. I got this to work using an analog adapter plugged into my phone's headphone jack, but the sound quality stunk.
Are there iPhone docs that have good DACs? I normally source my iTunes library via apple TV to the receiver, so I guess maybe I could use a reasonably priced DAC with the apple TV optical outs. Really don't want to spend more than a couple hundred dollars. Suggestions?
