I just called Polk and ordered a replacement driver for a seized MW6500 in my Monitor 10As. He told me the replacement is a 6502 so I went ahead and ordered it.

I did some research and it looks like the MW6502 is a 4ohm speaker, the 6500 is an 8ish ohm driver. I called back and asked and got a different representative. He says Polk doesn't make *ANY* MW drivers anymore, and any new replacement is from their R-something series and the 6502-2 is the correct replacement for the MW6500 I have. I asked him if it was 8 ohms and he said yes.

I'm still not feeling so confident about this replacement, should I trust him or did I get the guy that doesn't know what's going on?

I believe he told me it would be a RD6502-2.

My instict was right, I called back and asked for Helen this time. She told me if I measured the MW6500 at 7.something ohms then I need a 6503. She was able to modify my order.

So now I'm another believer, if you need help, call CS and ask for Helen!

    I measured MW6500 from 4A's and they measured 7.6 and 7.7.

    Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk.
Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.

Yeah exactly. Pretty sure the MW6502 would have came in somewhere around 3.5 which wouldn't be right for the 10A. Especially since the two drivers are in parallel.
