Windshield blinds...warning

Be careful of windshield shades that are the reflective type. We've had a VERY hot summer this year, and 3 people that I know personally have suffered cracked windshields from the reflected heat of these type shades.

    I learned - empirically, the hard way :-) - that it is a very good practice, on hot sunny days, to leave one's side windows "cracked open" if at all possible. Even in the absence of the sun-shades, the buildup of heat in the cabin can crack the windshield, too :-P

    Dark tint, windshield shades, and dashmats are all must haves in Southern Arizona.

    Shoot, I'm thinking about getting them installed in the work truck. North Carolina can get rather hot as well. Thanks for the heads up, Steve. Never would have thought about that.

    Absolutely no worries of that here!! What is a windshield blind? I have the heat on as its 52, rainy and windy today. Just like yesterday.

    Tom they make windshield shades that are a velour like material, rather than the "foil" looking stuff.
