Plasma "TV" speakers

Now that I've indulged myself in the Studio 10 thread!.....

I am looking to add a Plasma monitor as a replacement for the big and boxy CRT TV. In terms of connecting it up to the surround sound system, no big deal.

However, my other/better half wants to be able to 'just watch TV' without having to deal with all the other bits. We've talked about how this could be done (e.g. macro programmable remote, plasma with built-in tuner/speaker, etc.) and it looks like we're going to go with a plasma monitor with an NTSC/ATSC tuner and external speakers. Essentially, she would just turn the tuner on (like she does with the VCR today) along with the screen.

My question is (actually) about speakers. I have been considering using a pair of RC65 (or RC55i) in-wall speakers for this. Nice and unobtrusive. I'm not looking for absolute audio fidelity here, but it should sound good.

Any thoughts on this approach?

(The existing Model 10's would continue to be used with the surround sound system for 'serious' video watching)

-many thanks,

Jeff

FYI the January issue of Sound & Vision magazine has an article about 7 speaker systems, flat or mostly flat, that compliment plasma screens.

    Interesting speakers....and very expensive!

I'm not looking to (re-)create my sound system, just provide good sound for the "tv". When doing serious watching of DVDs and such, I will be using the surround sound system with my 10's.

Don't most of the plasma screens have speakers built in? I know it's awful hard to find any kind of tv that doesn't have (crappy) speakers built in - even though most of us here wouldn't ever think of turning them on :)
    - Sony 50"A3000 SXRD; Onkyo TX-SR 805
    - Polk RTi150 mains; CSi30 center; FXi3 surrounds, R15 backs
    - Velodyne CHT-12 subwoofer

    NO

This is what you want - look into this. Great issue and alot of great speakers for plasmas.
Unless the ripping holes and running wires in the walls sounds exciting.
