Good DVD Website Anybody?

I received a "Critics Choice" catalog in the mail recently. They offer DVD's that I have not seen elsewhere, but admittedly, I don't get out much looking for any. The magazine is offering free shipping, but I can't help but think that the prices are a little high. A good example would be the movie "Black Sunday" (which I already own). A friend recently found that DVD at Walmart in the bargain bin for $5.88, and "Critics Choice" is asking $17.96.

Anyone know of a good site with good prices and a great selection?

    http://www.amazon.com or http://www.towerrecords.com

Both places have a ton of stuff. All you really have to know is the name of the movie. Tower Records is a little better with finding obscure stuff but Amazon has an independant dealer network that is better for finding out of print stuff. Either place can be expensive but is mostly pretty reasonable in prices and shipping.

Another place that is pretty good is http://www.samgoody.com/

They have a pretty large selection and like the slogan says "Goody Got It!" but that is mostly for music. I'm sure you been to both Tower Records and Sam Goody locally and seen the instore selections, especially in the Philadelphia stores. Selections are the same online. Sam Goody is good for music but fall short of Tower Records and Amazon when it comes to movies.

Thank you Fireball John. My wife reported to me that Sam Goody went **** up over the holidaze. Said that when she went into the Burlington Center Mall, everything was 50% off, including the shelving. I didn't head over there because she also said that everything was pretty well picked over.

You coming over tomorrow or Saturday? If it's tomorrow, is it during the day or after work? E-mail me your phone number anyway. In addition to the KLH 6's, I even have some "gimme's" for you.

    my top two favorites are
    www.deepdiscountdvd.com (free shipping)
    www.dvdempire.com (cheap shipping)

The funny thing about deep discount is that they ship from the same warehouse as critics choice only thier price are a hell of a lot cheaper

Thanks Bill. I ordered from Tower, which was much cheaper than Critics Choice, but not as cheap as your Deepdiscountdvd.

I read your post too late, but not too late to add it to my favorites list. That'll be the folks who get my money from here on in!

    George,

Try www.dvdpricesearch.com. I use it every once in a while to find release dates etc.

no problem..one caveat with DDD though. Since shipping is free (media mail) sometimes it takes a little while to receive your goods. But generally if its an in stock item you should get it within a week or or two. I have never had a problem with thier customer support on any issues.

I found Amazon, Walmart and Buy.com to have the best prices. Buy.com ussually has the best shipping deals. Walmart is best if you go there (my wife just picked up ghostbusters for $8.88 and Young Frankenstien for $5). If you order it on-line from Walmart, and you have a store in your state (which most probably do), they will charge you tax as well as shipping.

Another nice spot I just found for used CDs & DVDs. Secondspin.com. The seem to have quite a lot of choices, but you need to check the prices to make sure you can't get it new for .50 more (I still haven't ordered from them yet, but will soon).
