Android tablet remote

Is anyone using the IR 'blaster' in an android tablet for their universal remote? How does this work? Just curious if anyone is using this for AVR, TV, etc.?

    I have used the one in our Gallaxy note 10" tab. Its about like any other universal remote. It doesn't quite do everything you would like it to do. One thing is cool though, you give it your zipcode and tv service provider then you just have icons of shows that are currently on tv. Just touch the tile and it changes the channel.
