New office rig

So I realized my office is severely lacking in the audio department. With the projector ordered and in-walls on the way for the theater I've been meaning to put a sound system upstairs.
Either the office or the identically sized room next door. About 17x14 with a desk in it.
Components are going to be for now:
Rotel RSP-1068 in 2 channel mode
Threshold CAS-2
Acer Revo Toslink > Rotel
Some random Yamaha transport for CD
Boston Acoustics VR-M60 biwired (just for the hell of it so I can get rid of the jumpers).
Tripplite power center (the 2U one)
Maybe my Apple TV with airplay...haven't decided yet.
Thoughts? I also have my RT-55s left over that I am not using that likely will go into the next room if the system goes in the office. RT55+CS400+RT F/X + PSW150 are all sitting in the closet waiting!
I want a dedicated 2 channel preamp but don't have any lying around right now. I don't want to spend a ton of money on one so I'll have to go hunting. I know bass will likely be lacking but I'm sure I can remedy that with one of the Yamaha servo subs sitting in the garage. I've been dying to put these speakers to use since I got them from Tony Millard a few years ago.

And post pictures, otherwise, this thread will be deemed worthless and you shall be shunned by all your friends and family and forced to work in a salt mine for the remainder of your days.
Well...OK...not really, but the cold shoulder you will receive from us for not posting pics will feel like that."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."
"Unwad those panties and have a good time man. We're all here to help each other, no matter how it might appear." DSkip -

Well it will certainly sound better than my 1970's Panasonic model RF-567D mono AM/FM radio! But man the distortion from that one 3" paper speaker is pretty cool when you crank it up! O.K. I'm jealous!

Of course I'll have pics. I have two Rotel amps I can try but they require a troll to carry up the stairs. RMB-1075 + RMB-1095 as well. Not sure if I'm going to use them at all.......though the theater calls!
I've been wanting to use the CAS-2 for a while as I hear Threshold made awesome amps.Main Surround -

I remember one of my first cars. I was the happiest guy on earth when i bought my FM converter for my AM radio in my 1973 Dodge Duster Slant 6. Which i dropped a 318 in it. 3 weeks later i blew the engine at 130 mph in 1979. The good ole'days..

Got it set up - but wife complained it was too noisy. I swear in this gigantic house I cannot go anywhere to play music because every room is adjacent to our bedroom, which has our baby in it. In the old house at least one room was not adjacent. Odd how it works out.
Excuse the mess, I used random cables laying around and have no dedicated stand. Also a few pictures of other works in progress such as the theater room.
Here is what I put together tonight in about 10 minutes of lugging gear up the stairs. I pulled the trusty Pioneer Elite BDP-05 out of the garage (it was sitting in a bin under my engine cover...lol) for source, the Rotel RSP-1068 from Craigslist, and the Threshold CAS-2 also from Craigslist. That's a Tripplite power filter. Ignore the Boston VR12 center channel, it serves nothing more than to prop up my Ruckus 7363 POE AP. I got to play this at low level to make sure it works. It's late so I couldn't crank it!
Another picture of the same, different angle though!
The MC80's that arrived in the mail today. This is test fitting and sound check. I will be removing them to paint them matte black and then putting some polyfill behind them. Install was easy except for the sheetrock in my eyes.
I tried to wire the binding post panel into the wall but the wife got really mad that it was making noise on the other side so I just hooked it up to test. I'll put it into the wall plate tomorrow. Excuse the mess, I haven't found a permanent place for my random equipment yet.
My temporary setup until the projector and screen come in. It will probably be a month before I have both.Main Surround -

That looks very nice. Those speakers on the stands look very nice.careful with little one around them. Your office looks like it could be set up very nicely...

The baby does not go upstairs and the theater door locks shut so it's okay! I actually set this up in the room adjacent to the office. The office is the door you see on the right. I will move it into the office when we find another tv for this empty living room.Main Surround -

Still no love today. Finished installing the wall plate for the in wall speakers though. Had to hang new fluorescent light fixtures in the garage and closet though. Maybe I'll get to play with them tomorrow.Main Surround -

Actually we found the 4xT8 fixtures on clearance at Lowes so we bought them. I like lighting - wife doesn't care. Just got our dinner table in today and I have to say - it's 2ft longer than my last home office.Main Surround -

Oh I tried out the rig today with Jewel's "Hands" cd in there. Apparently it's an HDCD but not announced anywhere. The Rotel switched to HDCD mode the instant it started playing. It was pretty clear. The Threshold had been service but never really run. Man I wish I had my Carver still... or the Adcom 555.Main Surround -

We have/had some Adcom amp-pre listed on Clist in Maine and i really wanted it. But we have another vacation trip planned to Texas. So that rules that one out Maybe someday Glad to hear everything is going on your system. Like alot on here' enjoy playing around with gear & once its done you can sit back & enjoy. Oh 1 more thing. Its always nice getting deals at H Depot or Lowe's. you sure can spend some dough there on material-for sure...

I both loathe and hate Lowes/Target. They're so close, and we spend so much on clearance at both places.Main Surround -
