I recently purchased ri2000 speakers and they are GREAT. My receiver is old, but seems to drive them fine. Should I get a new receiver? I know there are many options out there . . . i want 2 channel, no surround or home theatre.

Would anyone be so kind as to make recommendations. I hear Onkyo, Yamaha, Denon and Marantz are good. High end Rotel, NAD, and McIntosh. So many choices. Help!

i'm guessing it doesn't have pre-outs to hook up to a seperate amp, eh?

there are alot of alternatives, depending on how much $$$ you want to dish out. if you are just into 2-channel, you have alot more money to play with just powering those 2, vs. 5 in HT. if you want to go seperates, i would probably suggest marantz monoblocks. m6100's @ 125/channel @ 8 ohms, bridgable to 360 RMS w/ (2). but then you need a pre/pro as well. nice, cause they are upgradable. you could start with a SR5000 reciever, then upgrade to a pair od monoblocks, and when you can afford it, get another pair and bridge them. it would be an incredible 2-channel set-up IMO anyhow...

so what are you looking to spend, anyway... if you can go McIntosh... why even consider anything else...
