Start by saying this has been a really slow year, and still in need of funds to buy a decent sub. I'll confess, I'm still leaning to an SVS, and HSU is still looking good, but then I ran across these guys. Power Sound Audio is relatively new, about 2 years in existence.
Seems the a guy named Tom Vodhanel co-founded this company, as well as SVS. SVS it seems was sold a few years back, which caused me to look into Power Sound. Maybe Mr. Vadhanel didn't like the idea of working for somebody else, or maybe he just thinks bigger is better. I don't really know the reason, but I'll give a brief summery of these guys offerings. They have 2 sizes of subs, big and bigger. Where SVS left off, 13.5 inch sub, Power Sound starts, 15 inch sub.
I looked at their offerings, they list all kind if specs on their web site, and Audiohollics confirms them. The normal battery of tests were run, and they backed up the web sites specs, at least close enough for normal variables.
To me, the XV-15 looks really interesting. I'm looking for a slight emphasis on HT, so I'm leaning toward a ported sub. Anyway, much like SVS and HSU, there are no extras. I like the idea of room calibration in the Velodyne lines, but lets face it, low HZ is a subs job. In other words they have a big speaker, amp, and basic controls in their products.
So my question is really simple. What do others think?
I mean I know the numbers are just that, and sound is really the most important factor, but is this something to consider? Should I lean more toward a proven record, or try to start a new one?
I appreciate all comments, even if it is just to call me an idiot.

There is a very long thread for PSA subwoofer at AVSForum, even Tom (co-founder) goes on there as well. I've spoken with him via PM, and he is very helpful, and answered every PM in less than 24 hours. From what I've read and hear, their customer service and prices are some of the best.AVR: DENON X4000

SURROUND L/R: ARX A3

I read that post about a month ago. I'm really not seeing very much of a down-side in their XV-15. I was just wanting the opinions of others. Pretty sure there may be one in my living room sometime in the near future. -
