... from my favorite local emporium, some years back: a pair of Allison Ones.
These are fine sounding loudspeakers designed by erstwhile AR employee Roy Allison and meant for real world environments (i.e., the rooms in real houses).
They've spent years in the basement in MA hooked to a Sherwood S-5500II (or maybe it's an S-5000II...); Last weekend I cleaned them up, hit 'em with some Howard's Restore and then their wax wood treatment, and on Thursday this week moved them up to their new home. They'll get to live upstairs now.
I thought I'd post a photo of one of them, since I have never had a good photo to share... well, this still isn't a good photo, but it'll give you an idea of them.

Very nice! Congrat's on what looks to be a really nice purchase.

purchase? What is this "purchase" of which you speak? These were on the "Take it or leave it" pile (a/k/a the "Yankee Swap Pile") atour town dump. In the interest of full and complete disclosure, one of the four woofers was beyond rescue and I had to source a replacement (which I did have to actually... umm... purchase).

You must live in the upscale part of New England if there is such a thing. There aren't any Allisons in our local emporium; plenty of plastic Aiwa's though. Nice find for sure.

Many of the towns in Boston's 'burbs have some great "dumps"... well, they're just transfer stations/recycling centers, now, but they're still a social/political center for these little towns and many still feature "Yankee Swap" piles. I am going to miss the dump when we move... -
Those are stunning - appear to be showroom condition. well - the grilles are brittle (this is a known issue with them after more than three decades!) but otherwise yes they are in good shape. I will get a better photo (of both of them, too) anon.
