After the holidays were all said and done I was left with some money, and lots of Best Buy gift cards. I needed some new mains and i went to BB to listen to Klipsch Synergy line they have, and they were AWESOME! Especially the SF-3's. I think they will be my new mains. They were being powered by a little Yamaha 540 or 640 and still sounded sweet. I should have them before the weeks end. I have one question, what Polks are along the same price range that compare.($800) And a sensitivity of 98dbl's, I should have enough power with my new reciever.

If you're dropping 8 bills on the Synergy series, you'd better go listen to the RF25's first. Is there an Ultimate Electronics in your area? They'll have them. There's probably somewhere else around with them as well. I'd score the RTi8's personally, but if you like the Klipsch sound... ;)

Oh and please don't buy a speaker because of its sensitivity rating.

Actually there is an Ultimate Electronics store about 10 miles from me. I was thinking about going in and auditioning them or the 35's tomorrow or thursday. And don't worry, I was just noting the sensitivity.

If you're gonna get Klipsch for the front, you should consider changing out your center channel, rears and surrounds as well.

Personally, I would save my BB gift cards for something other than speakers. BB sells lower end speakers lines for nearly twice what they should cost (you can get them much cheaper elsewhere, especially on-line).

I decided to get movies with the gift cards and speakers elsewhere. Like Ultimate Electronics.

i would never own klipsch over a nice set of polks, however i did get a chance to hear the klipsch sf3 at best buy, and i have to say i was very impressed. a phenomenol sounding speaker even for its 800 a pair price tag. from what i heard, there ws a gargantuan difference between the sf2 and the sf3.

I've decided to get the RF-25's, which I might have saturday or sunday, depends. They seemed to be clearer and a little deeper bass. Also, I tested them on my reciever and they sounded great! Then for kicks I went to Circuit City and tried the RTi10's, and wasn't as impressed. But they were still good. Next thing on the agenda is new a center and a sub!:D

WOOHOO! Just got them and have been listening for about ten minutes.:D They are awesome! but they still have to break in for 10-12 hours. I will try to get a review up in a few days after break in. The magnetic grills are just superb.Looking forward to a new center in months to come. Impressions so far are great:D The people at Ult. Electronics are great and knowledgable. While I was waiting for them to get them from the back I was offered a bottle of water. Now thats how to take care of a customer!

I don't know if they still do it, but they used to monitor how many bottles of water they gave out to customers and their corporate offices would get on them when they didn't give out enough. :D

    Congrats on the purchase man.

    JDOGG,
Any improvement in sound since you got them yet? I want to know if you heard the same things I did during break-in.

I just bi-wired my 35's today and I can hear a difference. Highs is more airy and the soundstage seems bigger. The biggest difference is in the mids though. Sounds much clearer.

I've gone through about 14hrs. of break in so far. The mids seemed to open up a bit. And the highs are clearing up the more I play. The guy I dealt with at Ult. Electronics said about 10-12 hrs. of break in so I think I will be testing to see how good they are at high volumes. I will try bi-wiring over the weekend as I have too much school work to deal with this week. It's too bad that these speakers cannot accept banana connectors, now I have to return a few, or I could just wait and keep them for the center. But overall much improvement in sounstaging, imaging, etc. I'm gonna wait for high volumes for about half hour, just to be ABSOLUTELY sure they are broken in.

Don't return those banana plugs. The RF-25 will accept them. Use one of those tiny screw drivers or a small knife to remove the plastic caps covering the banana plug inputs on the binding posts.

My dealer recommended 30hrs for break in but there's too many factors involved like type of music, volume, etc. You don't have to wait that long to pump them up. Listeing to them loud will speed up the break-in process. However, I always keep new speakers at a nice level for the first few hours. You can play them loud right now. I had mine blasting on the second day.

Thanks ALOT. Much better sound over the bare wire. While I as doing that I noticed that on my right speaker the jumper was off a tad, put it back on and that helped. Cranked them afterwards. Rock music, some rap/pop.I don't even need to use my sub at higher volumes, around -20 to 0 on my reciever, which starts -80 up to +12. Went to the +12 and I was blown away. The highs, the mids, the BASS, all just mind numbing. Qouting my 3 yr. old sister, whichmy mom heard say, " Mommy my floor is falling down". her room is above mine. I was proud. Thanks again for telling me about removing the plastic caps.:D

You're welcome. I prefer bare wires but plugs and spades make connecting/disconnecting a million times easier.

No complaint from the parents and sister eh? That's cool. It's better to let your sister get used to loud music from your room while she's still young so she won't complain later on. I love the bass in mine too. The higher you turn up the volume, the more bass and dynamics you get and they still sound crystal clear. I love it:). They dig low enough for most music.

I can't wait to get the RC-35 so I can get back into HT. Still need a cheapo receiver to use as a pre/pro. A few guys at work just got into HT. Last night I sold my old Pioneer pro-logic receiver and I already have buyers for a pair of Monster Interlink Reference 2, a CS200 and CSi40. The only ones I won't be selling are the LSi9, RT800i and RT5.

I think I might hold off on the sub and get a new center and some surrounds. I might get the RC-25's because that would help in my goal of the complete 25 (what I call it) sourround system. How do you like Klipsch subs? I want the RSW-10 but i got no $.:( Figures, just spent over $1400 for the reciever and speakers. I need a job.

Sorry. I have no experience with Klipsch subs. They get good reviews though especially the RSW-15. I think they should be pretty damn good. The RF line have great bass, so their subs designed to go with the Reference line should be pretty good.

It's probably better to get the center and surrounds before the sub. You can set everything to "large" while you save up for that sub.

You should be fine with power. You have an excellent receiver.
