There are lots of threads on this, here are the basics.

On your receiver, set speakers to small, set crossover at 80hz. Use subout on reciever and run to unfiltered input on sub. Place sub in front left or right corner of room, set sub volume knob at 12 o'clock, phase to 0.

Congrats, that is a great sub. You should have lots of fun with it. Did you listen to the Monitor 7s yet?

    Gatemplin,

No I didn't listen to the Monitor 7 because I don't want to spend anymore money:rolleyes:

So far I am impressed with the sub, wait... VERY IMPRESSED!:) And it seems like it just keeps getting better the more I play it. The PW-2200 is so smooth it is incredible. It hits with great authority and accuracy. It will shake my room like crazy but even with it's brute force it doesn't seem to act anything up in the room which is great because I can still feel it in my bed which would mean less distortion because of less room vibrations and other things. Right?

The PW-2200 is an amazing sub IMO very musical and great with movies.

I popped in LOTR TT and the scene 41 where the wall is being blown up is like notting I've ever heard. I also popped in Saving Private Ryan and the starting is awesome. Just like I was there, I could feel the explosions. I the popped in Tears of The Sun and the jets are pretty neat, I could feel the jet as it flew by. :)

I don't think I will ever be going to a movie theater again, I've got everything I need right here in my room.:)

be sure and update your pics in the showcase. I found your sub on 6 ave. A bit pricey for my tastes.

I will post pics and update my showcase as soon as I can. JDOGG, don't know as I have never heard that Velodyne. I've heard the CHT-12 and was not very impressed because it was $749.99 CDN + TAXES (15%).

Doc, thanks for the list of DVDs, I will be sure to try as many out as I can. I don't have an SPL meter so how can I figure out how loud to set the sub? Is there a trick to picking the right volume? I either have too much or too little.

Where should I set the crossover on the sub at? I am using a Y-splitter going into the left and the right inputs and I think that if I turn it all the way up to 150Hz it keeps going and doesn't stop at 80Hz, am I missing something. I have the crossover on the receiver set at 80Hz.

Get a RS meter and do it right. Otherwise, blend it for music so you can't notice the sub unless you turn it off. For HT, you can go a bit hotter.

If you don't have a filter bypass switch, then set the 2200 filter to 150 Hz. At the AVR set all speaks to small, 80 Hz xo, and sub to on/yes.

Congrats! glemay on your new purchase of sub. I'm glad that you're enjoying your new sub.

I don't know what A/V receiver you have but make sure to set the crossover at 80hz and leave the SUB level at 0 db.

    YOU FINALLY GOT THE SUB!
    Happy New Year 2004!

The crossover seems to not be working because you used the splitter. When you use the Y splitter, the sub bypasses the internal crossover and then ou are supposed to use the one on the receiver. If you want to use the sub's cross over, just plug into the left OR right input and set the receiver sub out to full pass...
