Say a prayer for my little cousin

My Aunt and Uncle have a 6 month old son named John. On Thursday last week when my uncle went to wake him up from his nap he was unable to move anything below his waist. He has spent the last week in the ICU in Chattanooga TN. After 3 MRI's, 2 Spinal Taps and a bunch of doctors looking at him they are unable to figure out what caused the paralysis.

Today we just got word they are transferring him to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville TN. He isn't showing signs he is in pain, but he is still unable to control any muscles from his waist down.

We have been praying hard for them as they go through this struggle with their son and any prayers folks from the forum would like to offer up would be greatly appreciated.

More than likely we are going to head down there this weekend so we can sit with them in the ICU, run and get them food and generally take care of them so they are able to focus on him 24/7. As a new parent I cannot image what they are going through.

So say a prayer for them tonight before you go to bed. I know I will be.

    Dan, Prayers sent for John. It's so great of you to help out with your Aunt and Uncle as they go through this. Like you said, it's hard to imagine what they are going through.

    Very sorry to hear the awful news, Dan. My thoughts and prayers are with John, his parents and his caregivers. I hope they can find out what the problem is and can address it quickly and successfully. Also, safe travels for you and your family. It's a very kind thing you're doing.

    No worries man, I was knee deep in packing for our 4th of July trip to Milwaukee which we get home Thurs night, work all day Friday and then Sat morning packup and leave for Nashville, provided they want us to come. I left that totally up to them as I want them to have someone there with them, but dont want a crowd of people since that can be just as overwhelming.

    They just got checked into Vanderbilt about 2 hours ago and are in the Neuro ward rather than ICU so that at least is a bit encouraging.

    Vanderbilt is a great hospital - if anyone can get the little guy back to normal they can - best wishes.
