I have the Yamaha RXV-V795.
This is what you can adjust and by how much..
2 channel stereo: Sub No adjustments can be made.
Over all surround mode: center+surrounds -20 to +10
Sub -20 to 0 [zero]
Dolby Digital LFE you can adjust from : -20 to 0 [zero]
DTS LFE you can adjust from : -10 to +10
Only DTS can you add more bass. I just have to ask:
Can your reciver add more bass other than DTS? This seems pretty limited.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the LFE adjustments here. Keep the LFE for DTS and DD at 0 db. Put your Sub speaker setting at -3 to -5 db and adjust your sub gain on your sub amp using the Avia or Sound and Vision DVD. A lot of folks like to run about 3 db "hot" when you adjust the gain on your sub amp compared to the main speaker that you are adjusting your sub gain with. 3 db "hot" for movies and 0 db "hot" for music. I just leave mine on 3 db "hot" for both music and movies.
