All,
I saw this listing on craigslist and was wondering if $1000 would be a good offer? The seller wants $1500

Polk Audio Two Wood Trimmed RTiA7 floor speakers (MSRP $499 each)
Polk Audio One Wood Trimmed Center channel CSiA4 (MSRP $249)
Polk Audio Pair of Black Surround Speakers F/XiA4 (MSRP $399 for a pair)
Polk Audio DSW PRO 600 12" Subwoofer (MSRP $599)
Yamaha RX-V765 AV Receiver with iPod dock (MSRP $649, plus $50 for the dock)
Harmony One Universal Remote with PS3 control (MSRP $274 +$50)
All premium wiring included! (MSRP over $200)

Any advice would be appreciated.

The receiver is a bit weak to handle all that IMHO, but the price seems more than fair for all that stuff. Still, if you are going there with cash in hand, I bet 750/800 would be enough to buy it all.

EDIT*** did not see the seller wanting 1500 part. I would not discuss price on the phone and just go see what he's got. Offer a grand and start counting, you might get luck. I would be prepared to walk if the price is not where you want it to be.

Can't hurt to ask. Doubt he'll take it but ya never know. Probably will come down on the $1500 with cash in hand.

It looks like this receiver has pre-outs so I would probably get a 3 channel amp and run the fronts/center with it. If $800 CIH is all it most likely will take it may be a great deal. I don't need half the stuff he is selling so I might just have him take some stuff out if I cant get the price I want.

It's a steel if you get it all for $800. I have my doubts though. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I think the $1500 is a pretty good deal. Just searching completed listings on ebay I'm finding that The A7's sell around 600-800 a pair on ebay. The A4 probably another $175-200, the harmony another $100. DSW's around $300...

Like all things on CL, it depends on how badly he needs the money. You can always give it a shot.
