FS: Polk SDA SRS 2 with D0198 tweeters & other upgrades!

I thought I'd never sell these speakers but there comes a time when some things just have to go. I haven't been on here in quite some time but maybe some members will remember me. I also do things on eBay with a perfect 100% feedback rating over a 12 year period, too. I'm selling my Polk SDA SRS 2's which have been completely redone from top to bottom...literally.

• The top, bottom, and side oak panels have all been sanded and restained

• The grills and side panels were recovered 5 years ago with new cloth

• The (4) tweeters have been replaced with the newer RD0198 's

• All (8) MW6509's were replaced with the new Polk models. I had sent an original one to Polk for Ken to evaluate against the replacements and subsequently got all new mid/woofers for mine.

• The crossovers were rebuild with Solen caps and Mills resistors and the thermal circuit removed

• The Interconnect was replaced with locking XLR connections using a 12ga speaker wire for connection enclosed in a mesh wrap

All in all, these are simply one outstanding pair of SDA's that do everything so well it's scary. But, they have been in a closet since I moved back to Arkansas in January 2010 and I'm afraid they won't see any more playing time for a long while. It's a shame for them to be put away thus the reason I'm selling them. They've never been abused and have only been ran with either a Carver M-1.0t (now MKII) or a Carver TFM-55 amplifier.

I live in Central Arkansas about 45 minutes northeast from Little Rock and, of course, everyone knows these would be a biotch to ship so local pick is preferred. I have a truck and can meet you within a reasonable driving distance on a weekend if need be. I'm asking $1000 which I think is quite fair for a pair of speakers of this caliber and upgrades. If anyone in the midwest is interested, I will be in central AR this July 4th weekend. I could pick up these bad boys up for a small fee of gas money and get them close to you. I live in the Indianapolis area.

avguytx, please let me apologize for not getting you the word, but apparently the emails i have been sending are not going through, the message says something about batch error blah blah blah, i just got back last night from a few days spent with my sister, and saw the messages telling me my messages to you and others had not gone through.

I would love to have the sdas but right now i cant make it work, again I apologize and would never intentionally leave you hanging.
