best way to change cartridge

I have a DENON dp-11f w/ a Grado GF-3 cart.Now I have 0 idea how old this thing is and I have a line on a Grado Black for a great price. Now I just noticed a set screw on top of the headshell.Do you loosen this and pull the entire shell off to work on it or replace it in place w/ the arm locked in cradle and by unscrewing the nuts to drop the cart.
