Real Jazz such as Miles Davis, Monk, John Coltrane, Dave Brubeck, etc. Not the new age, Kenny G. stuff.

I have some rock CDs willing to trade also...

Thanks...

I may have to go through my stuff to maybe find you some stuff. No promises. You hit me below the belt with that plea.

Well, had enough of that metal noise have we? It starts with being too old to eat to R&R. Then it blossoms. For my research, what age did this occur at?

    Kevhed,

I've got these lying around (they've been replaced by SACD). All excellent classic jazz.

    Dave Brubeck - Time Out
Horace Silver - Blowin' the Blues Away
Miles Davis - Seven Steps to Heaven

I'll have a few more in the next couple of months with some pending SACD releases, but this is what I've got right now.

    Doug
    Parasound P5 Pre
    Marantz AV 7703 Pre/Pro
    Outlaw 7500 Amp
    Marantz SA14s1 SACD/CD
    Rega Planar 2 TT
Polk Audio Speakers: LSiM 705 Fronts, LC65FX Surround, LSiM 704c
    Oppo BDP-103

That's a great start. Tony Williams as well as the rest of them are superb on Seven Steps...

    kevhed72:

I have the following Coltrane CDs for sale. Please send me a pm if you are interested:

Coltrane - The Clasic Quartet: Complete Impulse Studio Recordings. 8 CD box set.
This is one of my favorite jazz box sets and, along w/Live at the Village Vanguard 4 CD set, is my favorite Coltrane.
It is essential jazz. Google it or check out the reviews at amazon and you will see how great this box set is.

Thelonious Monk with John Coltrane: THe Complete 1957 Riverside Recordings. 2 CDs. Mint.

I just can't listen to the Zeppelin, Rush, etc. any more. The only rock type music I listen to is indy/college radio/brand new stuff.
The first albums I dug out of my parents closet when I was in grade-school were Led Zeppelin II, The Doors, Chungas Revenge, and Who Are You, so I was exposed to much of this music at an early age. I'd say I start gravitating to jazz in my late 30's...
