Hello all,

I recently purchased a pair of LS25's and a Harmon Kardon AVR330 receiver. It sounds awesome, but, being a complete idiot when it comes to electronics, I think I messed up buying an 8ohm receiver to go with 4 ohm speakers as the receiver goes into protect mode at very loud volumes...should I try to exchange the AVR330 for a 4ohm receiver (say the HK3475)? Please help!!

    Welcome to the forum.

I'm quessing you meant LSi25's, right? Yes, exchange the receiver for one that's rated to drive 4ohm loads and you should be fine.

Remember that just because the volume knob goes all the way up, that doesn't mean you can expect to turn it up that high and not have problems. Generally speaking, about half way is all you get before clipping and/or the protection circuit kicks in.
