Are you a member at AK?--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -
Any chance to demo them? I've heard a few models and really liked them, but not the one you listed.

Nope, no chance unless some show up used at Hawthorne or maybe Echo Audio even...to clarify, i do have a pair so can fiddle with the jumpers and stuff to try and hear a difference in tweeter level but the placement ideas are hard to find. Being in the middle of totally re-arranging the computer room set-up i would like to get a good handle on where they SHOULD sound good and go from there. Its kinda tough as the room is full of lp's and cd's and books, not to mention the rack, the stuff on the rack, computer table and all the stuff on that table...want to make sure i do this right as i really don't want to EVER do it again:rolleyes:Computer room Hegeman 1 SpeakersM&K VX-80 subKenwood DP-7010Cambridge Audio CXC Transport Rega DACPrimaLuna Prologue Four AmpAric Audio Tube PreampGarage Jennings Research SquareCustom tube preampCrown XLS-1000Denon DCD-1500II Modded MSB Link DAC

I would be, given the chance.
I remember being quite favorably impressed by the Sonab (Carlsson) speakers I listened to back in the mid/late 1970s. Soundscape in Baltimore carried 'em way back then. I guess the closest parallel (no pun intended) is the Bose 901; but they struck me as considerably more refined and articulate than the 901 of the same era. I remember them as having sounded very pleasantly European: smooth, refined, balanced - great with acoustic music (think KEF, Spendor, b&o, Chartwell, ads/Braun, and - yup - Polk). I know I listened to bigger ones but not TOTL (there were numerous models); They were well out of my price range back then. I am pretty sure I didn't ever listen to any of the tiny, entry level Carlsson "cubes" (that I - maybe - could've afforded). The Monitor 7s seemed like a better place for me to go (probably because they were bigger - heh, heh, heh).
They were made to be placed in real rooms... real, European rooms (i.e., probably not 20 x 40 foot home theatres!). I think they were meant to be flexible but OK near walls; not in corners. I do have a little bit of Sonab literature still here in MA (I think...); let me see what i can dig up.
