Dropped of the rta12c crossovers off at my techs house today, along with full complement of Clarity ESA. 250V CAPS and neutrek conectors, gold "slip on" conectors, new 14ga copper strand wire, and mills restors. I will be installing huricane nuts ( no spikes type) also gold 5 way binding posts. Have new gaskets for all drivers as well. Drivers already dynomated and tweets upgraded to 194's. Am expecting some serious results! Better be good for the expense LOL. Will follow up

Picts will follow. It will be a week or so that will give me the time to do the mounting hardware and enlarge the hole for the neutrik conectors. Clean the inside and reseal the joints.

Yes, you are nuts! But in a good way. My prediction is you'll be very pleased once burn in is accomplished.

They are very good speakers in their original version, and at a whole other level with upgraded caps, resistors, H-nuts, dynamat.

May I make one other suggestion as long as you're removing the drivers: get a sheet of Black Hole and put 4" wide strips behind the MW's. It really helps to improve clarity during complex passages, especially at concert level volumes.

I have heard of this being done but 4" wide and how long should they be? I visualize verticle strips? Some detail would be of help. Thanks evet though i seldom (if ever) raise the volune up due to room size. Thanks

It goes on the interior back wall, behind the MW's. Because they're side by side it's placed horizontally spanning the width of the cabinet. I found that it also helps at moderate volumes.

Thanks while the cabs are open might as well do it as well. Will have to check some car audio shops in my area to see if i can buy in small piece to do the job. I can only assume it is expensive in rrg. package sizes.

Cant wait to hear these when complete, although i know it took nearly 300 hours fot the 5jr+'s to fully set in. In fact even after that i can still notice small changes in the sound. They keep getting better.

$70 for a 24" x 27" sheet, enough to do several speakers. I did my 2.3TL's and RTA 12C's with one sheet.

    I bought mine here: http://www.soniccraft.com/products/damping/blackhole5.htm

I did my SRSs, 1Cs, and a pair of Allison 6s with one sheet of BH5.
