The Stones have regained my respect, since the last purchse, I made of thier's was Some Girls. I was so upset on Mick Taylors departure that I gave up on the new stone releases. I wonder if they will keep him on the entire tour, better yet come out with a new release with Taylor!!! Nap enjoy the show.

Have a great time! Even though Mick is probably pumped FULL of anti-inflammatory steroids so he can keep "moving like Jagger"--kinda: They're still the Stones!

Thanks guys. A full damage report on Tuesday, what time not sure, it depends on how late the Stones keep me out. Don't wait up. BTW - I must have done something right this past year because this was my birthday gift from the lovely Mrs. nap. Cheers.

I thought Mick left of his own free will - he didn't like all the fame, drugs, etc. Pretty sure I read that in Keith's autobiography. I agree that the stuff he played on was a great period in their career.

Saw the Stones four times during their last tour. At Soldier Field in Chicago during mid-October, we were hit with a freak snow blizzard. It was like a mid-December Packers-Bears game out there, wind blowing the snow sideways, people all dressed in blaze orange parkas. Elvis Costello opened (I think solo but could be wrong) and he was a real trooper, the place was way less than half-full but he played his full set wearing just a scarf I think. The Stones came on and played a full set minus one song maybe. Right at the start of the show, counting on the fact that some people stay home during blizzards, my buddy and I snuck down to seats right next to the "little stage" that came out on little railroad tracks for three or four songs during that tour. Nobody ever showed up so we just stayed there. At one point during the "little stage" songs, Keith threw a whole hand full of guitar picks right at me and the wind was so strong they all blew right back in his face. He looked at me and gave a shrug, like "Hey, them's the breaks, Mate!" I have some photos that I'll try to dig up of Keith blowing into his fingers, which were turning blue. My appreciation of the Stones went over the roof after witnessing them put on that outside show in the cold, windy Chicago night. I would have loved to see Mick Taylor this time around, but I couldn't afford the prices for a good seat on this tour.

The show was great but it would have been better had they let Mick Taylor have a bigger part. He only got to play on two songs and Can You Hear me Knockin' wasn't one of them (kinda bummed about that). A few highlights included Mick Taylor and the Blues Jam they got into on Midnight Rambler (worth the price of admission alone), Jagger singing somewhat falsetto (well falsetto for him anyway) on Worried About You, and their backup singer, Lisa Fischer, REALLY belting it out on Gimme Shelter (My My can she sing). Another highlight for me was Keith singing Before they make me Run off of Some Girls. This replaced Happy which Keith usually does and was a welcome change. Below is the setlist from last night, I am glad I got to see them ! Cheers to all.

    Get Off of My Cloud
It's Only Rock 'n' Roll (But I Like It)
    Paint It Black
    Gimme Shelter
    Worried About You

    Emotional Rescue
    Doom and Gloom
    One More Shot
Honky Tonk Women (followed by band introductions)
You Got the Silver (Keith Richards on lead vocals)
Before They Make Me Run (Keith Richards on lead vocals)
    Midnight Rambler (with Mick Taylor)
    Miss You
    Start Me Up
    Tumbling Dice
    Brown Sugar
    Sympathy for the Devil

    Encore:
You Can't Always Get What You Want (with The Washington Chorus)
    Jumpin' Jack Flash

Outstanding! Of course, people have been saying it's the last time for more than thirty years. That's the reason I saw them four times the last tour. But this time could really be it. I don't know. And you saw the last show of the U.S. tour. You're right about Mick Taylor, they should've just let him be "in" the band again for this tour, what's the diff? I would just love to see them in Hyde Park, where it all began with Mick Taylor, that would be a perfect place to let Mick Taylor play the whole show(s). Glastonbury will be absolutely nuts also, too nuts. Can't wait to see the video.

You can't just let Mick back in the band without marginalizing Ron Wood. While I agree Mick is better, Ron Wood has more than paid his dues for what? 40 years? You can't just diss him by essentially giving Mick Taylor his old job back.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I would think they could have room for both Ron and Mick Taylor without marginalizing Ronny Wood. Ron's time with the Stone has result in him becoming an equity partner in the Stones Corporation, I don't think he'd really care if they had Mick Taylor on stage for one (final?) tour. Might make him a lot richer if fans bought even more Stones' records as a result. But its an academic issue anyway. In any event, I hope this brings Mick Taylor back to more touring on his own after this Stones tour is over.

I was thinking today that I saw or read of a DVD release (maybe here not sure) by Mick Taylor and his band. I'll need to look into this further, might be one to pick up.
