hi!
have been using polks for my HT for past 5yrs. (Monitors) and love them.
recently upgraded to RTiA5s, CSiA6, FXi A4s for sides and 2 RM10s for Back surrounds with Onkyo TX414.

which sub would go well with these. My HT measures 16' Long, 12.75' wide & 9.75' High with acoustic ceiling.

cost less than $1000/-

thanks in advance

Can only guess on shipping/taxes/duties, but here goes.

Three subs come to mind off the top of my head:

    1) HSU Research VTF2-Mk 4, this being the least expensive, but very capable sub

    2) SVS PB-12NSD, another very capable sub, but may be slightly over your price point

Both of the above subs are ported design, and can very low. If your more inclined to a sealed box, and smaller foot print

    3) SVS SB-12NSD should fit the bill.

You may also want tolook at Outlaw Audio, and Velodyne offerings. I would suggest a 12 inch sub for HT over an 8 or 10 inch, but there are some very nice 10 inch subs out there. For the A5's, I would probably stay away from the 8 inch models. I'm sure there are exceptions, but for the most part they will probably disappoint you.

    thankx for ur reply.
wanted to buy the hsu, only the shipping +duties cost more than the sub.
so am down to 2 choices svs pb12nsd or sb12nsd.. only they cost double the us price india.
am currently thinking of going for rythmil audio 12 or 15 custom kits. am quite comfortable with DIY. so does the rythmik compare well with svs, purely in quality for home theater use only.

I personally have no experience with Rythmik speakers, but have read good things about them. Sure somebdoy here can answer that better than I can. I mentioned the HSU and SVS, because I have heard both of them, and both companies have impressive speakers, especially for the price.

I completely agree with u about their performance and if i could buy them at their u.s. prices i wouldnt bother about the rythmik subs, but the final price to me if shipped from the usa would be more than double the usa prices. hsu doesn't have any dealers in india and svs does have one dealer whose pricing is even higher than what it would cost me if i got it shipped from usa. and as u know the size and weight are where most companies compromise when making subs, except for svs n hsu. the only option left is DIY and rythmik seems to be the best. anyone knows about any other good kits? please would like to know.
i was using a DIY 12inch sub from parts express with 1 250w. plate amp from dayton in a 24inch cube with my previous speakers setup of monitor40s, cs2 and 4 rm10s. with the current upgrade i would like to upgrade the sub too and also the amp on my sub conked out and i would have to get a new amp anyway.
