I popped in Steven's place today (Quest for Sound) for a visit. I'm always curious to see what new gear he has acquired. He's had the Musical Fidelity line for quite some time now but I really didn't get a chance to listen to any, until today. He had a pair of KEF R-305 floorstanders (the baby of the line) being powered by the MF M1 power amp. It sounded fantastic & everyone in the room was equally impressed. I didn't realize till later on that the MI is a class D design putting out 60w into 8ohm & 120w into 4ohm. If no one told me that I would have guesses it was an A/B design pumping out 150w into 8ohm. For a price of $499.00 it is one hell of a bargain.

Stephen also told me that KEF corporate was in last week to congratulate him & give him an award for being the highest retailer of their new LS50 anniversary edition bookshelf speaker along with being in the top with their other lines including the BLADE. He was tickled pink & very proud of the honor. It was another Saturday afternoon well spent.

Wasn't Audio Advisor running a special on these at a deep discount? You could pick up two and run them as mono-blocks.

Nice to hear that the Class D design sounds good.

They have them for 499 new or 399 refurbished. I purchased new because I wanted silver. I'm thinking about picking up a second one.
