I just visited another site and it had play off of this ones' show me your stuff. Well there are about 19 pages of some intense gear and one particular item just struck me. Again to repurpose something other than it's initial use.
For those who just stack or need a buffer of some kind between shelves for instance I used black spice jar covers and we heard of the hockey puck solution and pro isolaters and elevators. These were felt cymbal pads a few inches thick and looked perfect for the job in this guys rack.I actually called Guitar Center and asked how much are these things ,well a 4 pack is $4.50 and the heavy duty DW brand is $13.00.Then I asked him if he ever heard of using these pads for device buffers or lifters and he said all the time. I don't think I ever heard of these here or anywhere else for that matter.

Wow, I've been a drummer for 32 years and never thought of this. Thanks for the idea!
