Time for upgrades

We have been very fortunate recently and I have been allotted some $ for some upgrades. I am looking at repalcing my HK reveiver with an HT pre. I do want HDMI. It does not have to be 21.1 ch or 3D. I don't want to spend more than 700 give or take. I am tempted by the Outlaw and possibly the Emotiva (I prefer Outlaw as I have had experience with one of their products). I am open to used (no brainer) he reason for the budget on that is that I am also planning on buying my first SVS, again not sure which one but looking at under 900$. I know the sub should go under the speaker section but this easier for me to keep track of what feedback people will give.

Thanks ahead of time.

Not sure how much of a benefit you'll get with a 700 buck HT pre/pro. The SVS...yeah, you'll definitely gain some oomph. Ht pre/pro's run some coinage, the good ones anyway. Classe, Cary, Bryston, Anthem, to name a few have SQ off the charts in this area which I assume your looking for.
    HT SYSTEM-
    Sony 850c 4k
    Pioneer elite vhx 21
    Sony 4k BRP
    SVS SB-2000
    Polk Sig. 20's
    Polk FX500 surrounds

    Cables-
    Acoustic zen Satori speaker cables
    Acoustic zen Matrix 2 IC's
    Wireworld eclipse 7 ic's
    Audio metallurgy ga-o digital cable

    Kitchen

    Sonos zp90
    Grant Fidelity tube dac
    B&k 1420
    lsi 9's

Well I want hdmi. So am I better off forgetting the pre and stick with my hk for now and just buy a new sub? Any recommendations on which sub?

I think you might be right. I should wait on the pre, there is nothing wrong with mine currently. I am going to get a new sub. I have always wanted something much better than my Energy. It is not a bad sub, it's just not a very good one. If i stumble on a used pre then I might snag it.

Not sure if it would work in your space, but have you considered a projector? I think it'd be a bigger improvement in the overall experience. I got my 8100 and screen for under 1k new

I have but right now with a 2yr old and a 51/2 month old not much use of the screen usually just some Caillou or Thomas the Train.
