Sold some sh$t to a guy in Russia via ebay and now got an email saying he has not received his package. I looked into it and now found out that he can just file a claim and get all his money back because I shipped it USPS First-Class Mail International. F word times 1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Why does ebay offer this unprotected service through their own label printing system if its not safe?

Why didn't you pay the extra $.90 for a tracking number?

polkfarmaboy, did you purchase postal insurance? That is the best way to cover onself. However, I know that the US Postal Service does not allow insurance to certain "high risk" countries and Russsia may be one of those. I sell used books as a side business and will not ship to any countries where postal insurance coverage is not available.

Insurance is not an option on USPS First-Class Mail International. The next option is like $50 more and I was trying to save the buyer money. I did get a tracking number through ebay label printing but it stopped tracking after it left the us

Shipping overseas is tough; sorry to hear about that bad news. I've done a few times to Canada, Italy, and Australia, and I think I've been lucky.

I don't even ship to Canada anymore. CONUS only. Customs holds things up, tracking is unreliable, buyers are always impatient. Often filing claims only to have the item arrive after Ebay refunded them. Not worth the hassle. Sorry to hear you learned the hard way.

Sorry to hear about this PFB, agree with the others, seems like in the past 18 months or so, I've heard more and more of these horror stories from people doing business on fleabay. I guess it would be one thing if you had it in the ad locals only, no shipping, cash and carry. Keep us posted on this story.

Have to get tracking information. I request or send it rather ordering or shipping items. I have seen lost packages happen plenty while here in Japan.

I have had 3 transactions with Polkies shipping items to me in Canada with no issues at all..
Usually the item shows up the day I actually start thinking about the time..
Usually 8 days from Conus to Canada.
To the OP I would have never shipped to Russka you included the bottle to booze so the Border guard lets it through, lol

8 days from US to Canada? You are lucky. I have had things take 2+ weeks going up north. I had one item coming south to me and it took almost a month. That was many years ago though. Its always the delay at customs it seems.

Yes it was and since there is no rating system working I will take this opportunity to say polkfarmboy is an seller, items were packed very well and arrived in perfect condition.
I would not hesitate to buy from again..
Now since I have posted in someone else's thread about my deals and since there is no rating system should I just make a post about my dealings or is this acceptable?
as I have others I would like to be known about there dealings as well?
One of them transactions was with me lol
