Really wanted a CD player that can do SACD, and quality DAC (relative to price and perfmance) and was doing a lot of reading and comparining stuff...Read a lot of Polkie posts and found it mentioned favorably quite a few times. If it is built anything like my AV7701 pre pro, i know i wont be disappointed.

Settled on Marantz SA 8004, and bought it new off of an ebay seller for $729 shipped... He still has a few available if anyone is interested, and for that price I don't care if it fell off a truck.

    Good price. But at that price, I really doubt that it fell off a truck. That's in the range for a healthy discount on a 1K player that's been around for a while. A nice one, of course!
