Mhardy,I've seen both your chrome and black rack/stands for a long time . Before I fnally got my proper but not end all audio stand I saw these all over at Wal-mart,K-mart and others. They even w/o a WAF factor involved it never would have made it into the living room mostly do to width. What room do you keep you racks in . I can't belive they are are in some prominent space on the top floor living ,then again I could be so wrong.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

Those racks must actually be in the Vault room just to ensure safekeeping. When needed mhardy probably must sign out the units from the guard and return them later for proper secure storage. :biggrin:integrated w/DAC module Gryphon Diablo 300

The racks? I keep them in my room... it's atop the garage and purpose-built for hifi (and ancillary junk).
They used to be in the basement... I think my wife thinks they look OK; but it is fair to say that neither of us has a lot of asethetic sense :-(
We actually used an interior designer to help us with paint colors and some new furniture for the "nice" parts of the house...

A matched pair of Morris chairs would go good with your other Mission pieces.>

Your floors are friggin beautiful, Wide Pine my guess. Very NE. Yankee style. As I thought "your room" was no where the wife's living space. You have great stuff and we did talk about the fact that you have puplic dumps that allow trades and pick throughs I tried that down here in Jersey and it's absolutely forbidden to go through any of the town's dump sites. They have cameras, and on the day when drop off is allowed there is a guy on station to put it away in the proper dumpster.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E

Yes, wide board pine floors in the house; it is a Colonial reproduction and reasonably authentic in details (plaster walls, wood beams, sstuff like that). My in-laws had a real one... theirs was a beautiful house but a fair amount of work required and none too well insulated.
Well... she's OK with "my" room... and I am allowed in the rest of the house :-)
I went with carpeting over plywood subfloor in the loft - but we did do a double layer of blueboard under the plaster to make the walls a little deader... and I did specify separate lines for the hifi electricity and hospital grade wiring and outlets :-) Couldn't hurt... -

but it's your junk, your room, and a cool room at that
I will be building a house soon with a room segregated from all to do and listen as I please....a real he-man women's haters club room, you can enter with an open mind and if you don't like then get out........that's the plan anyway not sure if it will work but I hope so2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures

It looks great! Out of the way of everyone else, on top of the mountain and above the first floor. What more could one ask for? And it seems big enough, too! The only thing I'm still pondering is why N.H.? After over 20 years under our friends in Canada. I've had enough snow and cold. The only way I'd retire up here is if I had a DEATH LASER that could burn off any snowfall in seconds and turn back winter whenever "I" wanted!

I can deal with snow and cold in my own time. I.e., as long as I don't have to dig my way out at 5AM in order to slog to work in a blizzard, I am OK with it all. I couldn't afford a view like that in any warm place that wasn't full of meth addicts and old rusted pickups up on concrete blocks out in the side yard ;-)
