Monitor 7B Issue

ok... I bought a set of Monitor 7B's at a great price (20$)

Here is the issue:

-Left speaker sounds great.
-Right Speaker- Very minimal bass

-Left speaker- Mid-Range speaker moves freely in and out. Meaning if I push on the subwoofer the Mid goes moves out.
-Right speaker- Mid-range seems frozen. Push on subwoofer and mid does not move. If I place manual pressure on Mid it does not move.

I pulled both mids and passive bass speakers:

Right mid speaker "spider?" does not move at all.

Left move freely.

Is the R mid speaker bad?

Sounds like the magnet shifted and froze up the driver. This can be fixed, but it's not an easy task and is quite detailed. There are some threads that go into the details of doing it. Most people find it much easier to just buy a replacement, whether it's a new one from Polk (usually $48 apiece for CP members with FREE shipping) or a vintage replacement from that auction site, etc. Polk carries several, but not all, different models of 6-1/2" drivers.

Is there a model number on the magnet of the bad mid-woofer (ie. MW65xx)? Perhaps we can help source a replacement.

Also, PG69, it's a good idea to put a bead of JB Weld, Loctite or another ceramic/metal adhesive around all your vintage Polk drivers' magnets to prevent this from happening again. It usually happens when the driver or speaker cabinet is jolted when moved, or in shipping. I used Loctite - on tops and bottoms of all driver magnets - on all of my vintage Monitor and SDA drivers. There's several threads with pics around here discussing this. Good luck.
