RTi-A7 Roll-Off

Polk Forum Members,

I apologize if this question has been asked before (I can see you already rolling your eyes). I think the +/-3db roll-off of the RTi-A7 is at 35 Hz, right? The roll-off of my subwoofers is rated down to 20 Hz. Therefore, would setting the crossover to 40 Hz make good sense? Thank you (and sorry).

I'd suggest maybe 60hz. If your getting down to 35hz with your towers, your not getting many decibels doing it. Cross it at 60 and let your sub come in well before your A7s even begin to roll off.

Your sub has a lot more head room, you may as well use some of it. I would try 60 or even 80 Hz. Your A7's can dig pretty low, but you have a pretty good sub. May as well let it do what it was designed to do.

    +1 @ 80 Hz.

Here's a great article on the subject: http://www.ecoustics.com/articles/set-speakers-small-receiver-setup/ When I had my Polk LSi15's & now my KEF Q900's I played around with the settings & small @ 80Hz always produced the best results.
