Right now I get my audio from my computer from the headphone jack into a Y-splitter to RCA cables into the rear of my Yamaha RX-V665 at audio 1. This works and it sounds great and I even run it through my 2-chl through the tuner section of the Onkyo pre. Now I want video, my computer is a 10 y/o Gateway w/ no HDMI. Someone suggested that I run monitor out w/a VGA end running to the back of the Yamaha w/ the other end being HDMI
and I do have unused HDMI ports in the Yamaha.
Will this idea work if they have such a cable or an adapter to go from VGA to HDMI.Just so you know the 2 units are in 2 different rooms and the lenght of the cable would be 30'.Most of you guys are way more computer literate than I am and should know a littlle about the functions of the RX-V665. So is this possible and what exactly would I need.

Never mind, Someone said just go from VGA out of the computer to Vga to tv. That's it. That's the answer I was looking for and either Parts Express or Monoprice has the lenghts I need.
