New Dodd Phono Stage

I confess I don't have a lot of experience with external phono stages. I've been using an early PS Audio IVa which I've come to realize is pretty entry level by today's standards, and previously all internal phono preamps. But this new Dodd is pretty sweet to my ears. Here's a little tube **** for your Saturday morning. More later.

Congrats! IMO its all about design, power supply and high quality, tight tolerance components, especially in the RIAA stage. I see WIMA and Sonicaps, PR resistors (.1% - 1% tolerance range) and Gary knows how to do a good tube circuit.
Real basic, in or out depends on when it was made and/or who made it. Pre CD odds were better to find good internal stages, post CD it depends. With external you got nothing else to worry about but the stage itself.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
