Now this is really stupid, the setup you see, the 12's would not be there...I just took the pic, as it sits right now. The 1C's and the Advents are working. the only ones that are working. Now why i bothered to do this not sure..the CD i was playing was Creed. Now the 1C's alone will beat you with that CD.

BUT..if you stick the Advents on top..then it becomes beyound stupid. I did not disconnect the SDA cable..BUT at least with this CD..didn't seem to make a difference..stuff was flying around the room..not that it's a great SDA type cd to begin with.

I have no words for this..you can't turn this past 10 1/2 on the volume..you would just beat yourself to death or go deaf. I tend to think the overall sound is not that great..but i will have to walk away from this mess..listen another day with a better cd. I don't see how this can really work that well at all. But if you want bass..man this will give it to you...LOL

Why not take the 12's and the Advents out of the mix and then experience the difference it makes. Kudos to Friday nights!

LOL..i only did this because somebody had said something about stacking speakers..it is just a test and joke. I had the extra speakers sitting there, so i tried it.

The 12's are NOT hooked up, they just were sitting there when i took the pic. Surprisingly it does not seem to DESTROY the SDA "effect", what it does do, is seem to make a "wall" of sound..it is massive and you hear stuff from the top to bottom of your room..plus massive bass.

Not that this is great, or anything else. With the old Advents on top of the SDA's..it does seem to work to some degree. I'm not saying it sounds great..but does kick your ****..big time. It was fun to try out. But i'm sure when i go back downstairs with a "sober" pair of ears, it's not going to sound too good...LOL

Nice speaker stands. Try to get the wall color to coordinate with the speakers for a synergistic coupling.

Normally there is only 1 set of speakers sitting there. Either the 12's or the SDA's. Which ever set is not in use is moved completely out of the way on a side wall. The 12's are a real pain to move. So for this silly test, i did not bother. Just moved them over some, and slid the SDA's in between.

Now if you play just rock, which for the most part has no real SDA "effect" going on..it did not sound too bad. BUT after X amount of drinks..anything probably sounds OK.

Once i go back down stairs and try this again..more then likely it will sound bad. Then i can just put everything back to normal and say, well that was fun. If for some reason, it may not sound like crap.

I might move the 12's out of the picture, set the SDA's right, in there normal space. Flip the Advents, so the tweeters are all in line, and the bass driver being on top. Then put on something i know has a good SDA "effect" on it and see what happens. Now i don't expect this to work too well, It has to mess with the SDA "effect". But since i went this far, might as well set it up the SDA's the way it should be and see what it really sounds like. If i pull the SDA interconnect cable, so the 1C's play like normal speakers. Then this probably works and you have just a massive speaker set up beating you to death....LOL But little point in that if you like the SDA "effect"

Ok..stacking Advents on top of SDA 1C's....really doesn't work that well.....Like Duh..

It does not completely kill the SDA "effect" but it's not great. If you wanted to turn your basement into a disco..then it will work, does give you a "wall" of sound. But otherwise..not so great.

The Advent is not something you want to stack on a SDA 1C...to make this work at all, you would need a separate power amp to run the Advent that you could control the volume. So you could at least match the volume out of both the 1C's and the Advents.

The only thing that may work if you really wanted to stack speakers..or at least SDA stuff.

If you got a set of CRS..put that on top of a set of 1C's..with a separate amp that can control the volume. MAYBE..MAYBE that would work. You may end up with a poor mans SRS 1.2....LOL
