These are fantastic headphones guys at a killer price! If these were in black I'd grab them just so I could have a pair in each color. Everything about these (unless you consider heft or girth to be premium) just shouts out high quality and a premium product, from the sound to the materials used to the actual build quality it's a premium product.
The sound is the classic higher end Sennheiser sound, a little laid back but very music and listenable for hours without fatigue. Imagine what a closed pair of HD600 would sound like and that's basically what this headphone delivers. If you're looking for a bright sound or something that's super energetic then something like a Grado may be more up[ your alley, and if you want a bass monster with good sound quality then check out the M100. But if you want a natural, musical sound then it really doesn't get much better than these given their direct competition.
Also, these are driven VERY well by portable products. They don't need (and honestly in many cases don't benefit much from) an external headphone amp, the sound I've described above is driven from an iPod playing lossless files.
They are very lightweight and comfortable, but if you have really large ears these may not fit you as well. I find them to be the absolute most comfortable pair of cans I've ever worn, and my friend who has larger ears also loves them, but if you've got satellite dishes you may not like these as much.
Can you tell I like these? And it's not even my sale and I don't (think I) know the guy selling them. At $225 and keeping in mind my notes above, these are a no brainer! -
I think I'm going to grab these. My primary headphones are LCD-3's, and that ain't gonna change any time soon. But I do have times when I need the isolation of closed headphones, these seem to fit the bill. There are mixed reviews out there about the comfort, depending on your ear size. I've also got a pretty big head, but the only way I'll know is to try them. Worst case, I'll pass them on to someone else.
Please PM me your paypal address and I'll get you paid straight away.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance. -
Good grab, Neil, and saves me from the temptation!
