Just got hooked up my new Totem Rainmakers, in mahogany! So far I´ve only listened them a bit, but they sound great, specially the midrange, the voices sound sooo sweat!

They are a truly amazing little speakers!

By the way, I´m using a NAD C316bee amp and NAD C515bee CD player. I can tell you it´s a wining combination.

Pic later!

    Congrats!

I have a question, though. And I realize that it's an apples and oranges comparison. But I'm curious. I see you have some Energy RC-50s in your sig. Though they are towers; what do you think of their sound compared to the Totems? The reason I ask is that I've always thought of the RC-10s (the bookies) as a low price alternative to the Reinmakers that while not quite as good, still very competitive for a 5" two way.

That´s a good question, actually, since I was also considering the RC10´s but wanted to taste the totems. I´ll do a more extensive listening to the totems during the week, and then do a side by side comparison during the weekend. The RC50 are upstairs, while the totems are sitting on the living room, so I´ll take the totems upstairs, easier to move than the towers. I don´t think it is fair to compare them in different rigs.

    Cheers!

I will predict that you'll find the Totems have a more fleshed-out midrange, and vocals will be far more realistic in respect to tonal character as opposed to the RC's.

Some pics for you! Sorry about the quality, light was not on my side.

Listening to Pink Floyd right now, sounds very refined, the highs are very prominent, but not fatiguing at all. But the best is the midrange, just so delicate!

    Congrats on the Rainmakers!
I tried to buy some recently off a member here for $550, local.
He turned out to be SUPER high maintenance, and there was plenty of "kissing" involved (in places I would not mention) , plus feed his ego............so I passed.
So instead, he sold them on the Gon with all the hassles...and cost of shipping (I lived 70 miles from him) instead of selling them to me for $50 cheaper.
He basically accepted my offer, but entertained others at the same time!
That is NOT MY IDEA OF A POLKIE!
I wanted to hear them, but never got the chance.
But he only visits this sight when he wants to sell something, and I CANNOT WAIT! WHEN HE DECIDES TO SELL AGAIN!

    Congrats on your find!
Read alot about them, but never got to hear them.
    And have always wanted to.
They are in my top 5!

I have read alot about them, and I am pretty sure they live up to the hype!

...and you're still clueless about what a Polkie is.

To the OP: Congrats on the Rainmakers! They are amazing speakers. I hated to give mine up, but I've moved on. One day I'll move back into the Totem fold with a pair of Arro or Forest.
