If you're ridding yourself of the CS400 and replacing it with the CSi40, presumably for continuity's sake, why would there be any question? Get the RTi70's and remain uniform.

Which speaker do I prefer of the two? The 55i.

    Two Channel Setup:

    Speakers: Wharfedale Opus 2-3
    Integrated Amp: Krell S-300i
    DAC: Arcam irDac
    Source: iMac
    Remote Control: iPad Mini

    3.2 Home Theater Setup:

    Fronts: Klipsch RP-160M
    Center: Klipsch RP-160M
    Subwoofer: SVS PB12NSD (X 2)
    AVR: Yamaha Aventage RX-A2030
    Blu Ray: Sony BDP-S790

Do you ever use your rt55's as part of your home theater setup? I take it you prefer your rt800's over the rt55's in HT?

I'm looking to p/u either the rt55's or the rt800's. Whichever I find first I'm gonna buy.

    Thanks,
    Spyder
    RTi70 Fronts
    CSi40 Center
    RTi38 Rear
    PSW650 Sub
    Str-de1075 Receiver

    Hope is on the way!

I've never run the 55i's in the home theater. I'm guessing that the differences between them won't manifest themselves as clearly, given that they're crossed over at 80Hz. If it's strictly home theater that you're using the speakers for, I wouldn't worry about it at all, they'll both perform very well.

As rear speakers, the RT800's won't require stands. The RT55's will. Also, the bass extension (if set to large) will be superiour with the RT800's.

I use the RT800i's as rear surrounds with Monitor 10's in the front in my HT. The RT800i's work fabulous in this setup.

    Both are excellent speakers.
