Still thinning the herd a bit with regard to my Dared SL2000A tube stash. I have a very nicely matched pair of Telefunken ECC801S (premium 12AT7). 3 mica, halo made at the Ulm plant U zn 06 codes for both. These are military rugged and regarded by many as the best 12AT7 type ever produced. They will last a couple entire lifetimes as they are rated for over 10,000 hours of use. Labels are in tact but as with all TFK tubes, they are very delicate and easily wiped if not careful. Packed in white boxes.

I would like to keep these in the family and I am offering them at a fair price. They are pretty desirable so I'm not going to blow them out at a rock bottom price. I hope someone else can enjoy them.

$95/pair plus shipping and insurance. Paypal gift preferred.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Were these your "holy grail" tubes mentioned awhile ago? I'm interested...

Yes they are. I somehow have a duplicate pair. Telefunkens are unique (all German made tubes actually) in that they are superbly engineered. They are built to very close tolerances and last forever. They have a unique ability to be very neutral but have a 3D air on the top end that is hard to find in any other tube.

You could easily pay twice the price for a slightly used pair, and about 4X the price for a new pair. Just trying to give back without loosing too much.

My tube philosophy is to always roll in different tubes. The changes in presentation, etc make the same gear seem fresh, etc. That's why I own so many pairs, I enjoy rolling and appreciating each different tube and what it brings to the table. When I first started in tubes, I went on a legendary buying binge because I was so eager to try them "all". Now I am slowly thinning the heard as I have enough tubes for my children, grandchildren and their grandchildren.......lol.
