Anybody ever try this since it's very hard to find an LsiCenter?
It should be the same right?

If you have other LSi speakers for the fronts - should be fine.

The 9 is a great substitute for the LSiC...and a pair of them is even better!
But then I have a pair of LSiCs so I don't have to worry about it. MWUHAHAHAHAHA!

Seriously though, as a substitute for the C, the 9s are fantastic...maybe even a bit better as they tend to handle bass quite a bit better because of the larger cabinet.

How do you have the pair of LSiC's hooked up? Also how does it sound? Do you just have them side by side?

Hehe. I don't currently have them both hooked up but am considering mounting my second one above my TV and just running a splitter from the single out on my AVR to both channels of one of the GFA-555s. But not sure I will even do that. Hehe.

I dont think he has both of em hooked up he just has 2 from all the LSi's he bought, he bought 2 full 5 channel sets of speakers.

You might be able to buy one off of him

Personally, I'd rather have an LSi9 center over an LSiC. Theoretically, your LCR should match, so if you have LSi9 mains, it would be the perfect match.

    Ryan- Not a good idea.

The only advantage of dual center channel speakers is an additional 3 dB of potential output. But you also add a plethora of comb-filtering, lobing, cancellations, difference in arrival times, phase problems.

The LSi9 if mounted upright would actually be a better choice as a center. The ultimate front end L/C/R should all be matching. The center as we know it today was designed due to ease of placement.

I've seen pics online of dual LSi9s for the center channel on there side. Hunt for them. I would of done the same if I would of went with the older LSi setup over the newer LSiMs.

I've got Lsi15's and plan to get the Lsi9 for the center and lay it on it's side.
Would it matter if the Lsi9 is laying down vs standing up?

Yes!!!!! The LSi9 is not designed for horizontal placement. Hence the design of the LSi center. Though not perfect it will perform better than a 9 placed on it's side. You run into all sorts of problems with a speaker designed for vertical placement that is used horizontially. If you can't use the 9 in it's designed placement then use the LSi center.
