Well, a few months ago i noticed that the newsletter our ROA sends out was no longing working for me. I clicked on download/run and nothing happens..my wife gets the same email and it works fine on her computer. She has a wireless connection to my main one. Wasn't a huge biggie since she got the same email so eh...however i have now been trying to read reviews and download manuals and most of them seem to be on pdf and no go. I click run and nothing happens...screen just sits there fat dumb and happy:mrgreen:

Went to the Adobe site to download Adobe Reader, says to click run and then wait for the security box to pop up. I click run and that's all that happens. Zipp, zero and zilch. What i be doing wrong or is there another issue at work here?

thanks in advance for all the thoughts..good and bad:eek:

Did you have Adobe before? Did you delete any old version before trying to install the new one?

    Get a Mac...

I'm totally joking, adobe reader and flash suck just as bad on the Mac as they do in windows!

Couple questions: What browser are you using and what Operating system are you running Windows wise (Vista, 7, 8, etc)?

Also do you have the pop up blocker turned ON in whatever browser you are using? That may stop you from seeing the prompts you need to see after clicking "Run".

Personally I have used Firefox since it came out so if your using Internet Explorer I can be of somewhat minimal help as I always use it to install things.

Uninstall any old version of the software. Also use CCleaner to clean any registry entries the program made, then go for the new install.

Unistalled Adobe reader, went to the Adobe site to download it...clicked the run icon as instructed to, no run box appeared as they said it would, the words "installing please wait" appeared with that bar graph which never moved, words went away after about 10sec, then nothing..everything just sat there. Waited over 5 minutes just to make sure.

:sigh:, so, the adobe site says i might have to disable my Avast anti-virus in order for it to work. Tis true? If so, how do you go "temporarily" disabling the antin-virus? Went to my spinning avast world in my tool-bar and did not see anything along the lines of "temporarily" disabling it.

Right-click spinning avast! world in task bar
    Left-click avast! shields control
    Left-click disable for 10 minutes

Thanks! That did it but still couldn't download Adobe Reader..same thing happened as in nothing happened. Now i am unclicking the box on the site saying to download Chrome as my default browser, I just know that unclicking the box has NOTHING to do with my issues but....

starkiller PM me your email address. Windows has a remote access utility (windows remote assistance) that can let me log into your system (with your permission) to help you from my computer.

I had the same problem come up on my work computer and got our IS guy to help me with it. He's very competent, but even he couldn't figure out how to correct it.
