The destruction near OKC is just frightening, and by the news accounts, it has only just begun. You guys be safe and know we are praying for you and your families.

It was an F4, 1 mile wide, with a 2 mile wide debris field from what I have read.

The scariest things I have been through in my life are tornado's.

We are supposedly having some rough weather here latter on tonight (possible tornadoes).

Luckily I bought a house with an in ground tornado shelter.

Most of my family life in OKC but where not affected.

Thoughts and prayers to those affected!

The tragedy unfolding at the elementary school saddens me more than anything else. Curious to find out why underground shelters were not part of the plan there...

I was in contact with family and friends that live in/near the area. My family texted me while in the underground shelter. Reminds me of the May 3rd, 1999 tornade when I still lived there. Thank goodness every one of my family members, relatives and friends are all safe. Two days of tornados. I saw a video of the tornado a friend of mine recorded and she lives a block from my parents. I am deeply saddened for the lost of lives and pray more children will be found.

I have been very tempted to make the short 3 hour drive back. Phone calls do not work, but texting is fine...
