Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

What's really cool is my teenage daughter (a girl mind you!) is really into vinyl. She's heard enough preaching from me over the years, and she's arrived at an age where she really hears the difference now. My old B&O Beogram 3000 has changed her sonic perception hopefully forever! Now instead of looking for Ipod downloads online she wants to go to record shops and look for LP's. What's better than that for a father/daughter thing to do! There is a God after all, lol!Living Room: HK AVR 354 as pre/pro, 2 x Polk Audio Micropro 4000, Adcom GFA-7500, 2 x Mirage OMD-15

I am enjoying listening to vinyl almost everyday. I am finding incredible deals at Goodwill, yard sales and even record stores.I got static in my head

Great article!
You will have to pry my turntable from cold dead hands! -
worshiping each new 45 RPM disc he bought (his first: Deep Purple's version of the Neil Diamond song Kentucky Woman), Deep Purple covered Neil Diamond - I'm going to be ill. " hush, hush, I think I hear Sweet Caroline calling my name now" what an awful concept.
-
But a good article - I'll put something on the TT before I reach for a CD.

One of the things I look forward to most when I get home after several weeks being away is spinning some vinyl. I've got a really nice sounding system in my work apartment but all the sources are digital. I love getting me some analogue action when I get home.

I was just at Jazzfest in New Orleans with some buddies and I mentioned to one of them that I was listening to vinyl almost exclusively these days in the house, and asked him if he was spinning any wax. He said he wasn't really playing vinyl these days, but his daughter was. He said that she had discovered his record collection and was really into playing records and liked the sound quality. Another guy said his son was also into vinyl and that he bought alot of his new stuff on LP.

Or just pay you :razz:Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance. -

Cool, Amazon, Deep Discounts, and bestbuy have great deals on their websites for LP. Lots of LP come with digital downloads now. Amazon Auto rip is awesome too. If she buys a LP from Amazon.com and it has the Auto rip it will download to her amazon account and sync with her itunes. This way she has the awesome LP copy and a MP3 for connivence.
I have an old B&O sitting in the shed of my office were I work onto of a stack of Adcom amps, maybe for holidays her parent(s) will get her something cooler like a Audio-Technica or a Pro-Ject debutIII to keep her new found discovery of LP alive for many years.B&W CM9Classé Sigma -
Amazon Auto Rip? Never heard of that til now. Friggin' awesome! Can't wait to share this with her. Things are movin' so fast, and getting better! I've had by B&O TT since 1973. Works flawlessly!Living Room: HK AVR 354 as pre/pro, 2 x Polk Audio Micropro 4000, Adcom GFA-7500, 2 x Mirage OMD-15

Lol.
In my defense, I had a brand new TT in the house!
If it was up to me, the Thorens would have never gone anywhere. However, my wife has a small say in the matter and she used every ounce of her say to make sure I sold that table... -
That Thorens created a monster :cool:Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
