I have an Adcom 545II for sale

It has some sort of DC problem that I have not been able to solve

The unit has all new caps in it.

I do not have the time to mess with this thing anymore

I am getting out of the audio hobby for now.

Wow. I would take this to my tech that lives a few blocks from me. The price is sweet if it's a cheap fix.

What do you mean by a DC problem? More info would be helpful.

I have not had the time or technical resources to actually see if that is the problem but from what I have read and been told is that might be the problem.

When you first power up the amp it causes the drivers on the speakers to extend way out and then suck way in.
This happens very quickly at initial start up and then it settles down.

After that the amp plays and sounds fine.

The only tech I have near me is the one who put the new power caps in and cleaned it up, he took the amp back and tested and could not find the problem, he even redid the power caps again but it did nothing.

The problem is that he is over an hour away from me, there is no one really local to me.

I got to a point that I just do not want to waste any more travel and shipping time on this amp anymore.

Unless someone from here has any suggestions, I have the technical know how to actually fix the amp but I do not have the right equipment or know how to diagnose the it to find the problem, does that make sense.
