Attachment not found.Thanks. The little Yammy cr240 does a nice job. I brought volume up to 86db and it sounds very clean. One of the bulbs on left side is out. Easy fix. I cleaned up inside/did the big d to the knobs. No scratchiness. When i got it i thought it was a different kind of wood compare to other cr model. These yamaha's are easy to work on & die hards....randy

I just searched yammy on my clist and one similar to that one came up for $10. Guy said it plays great.

Not gonna be able to scratch out a 2-hour road trip on Mothers Day, however

My daughter has had one I found at the dump for many years now; nice entry level receiver, although not quite up to the standards of the CR-x20 family that immediately preceded (IMO).

Ive been listening to the MONITOR 4's on this little 20 watt receiver for 2 hours @ 75-80db's and it doesnt get much better than that. Very accurate clean/clear sound. I can hear all the instruments and the vocals very well..i have to say POLK made some awesome monitor speakers & Yamaha matches them very nicely....randy

Thanks Carl. I really enjoy the sound that the vintage Yammys have. I had a pair of yamaha speakers 4 years ago and i hated the sounds of them. Never really had Yamaha receivers. Last year i got my 1st cr620 and i tried at least 5sets of different speakers on it..then i decided to ask CP about what to matching them with. And every cr receiver i have is connected to monitor speakers and they all sound wonderful to my ears..i even had big Klipsch 3+ ft tall speakers & it just wasnt there..I listen to music every day. So its been a great experience to me....randy

I really like the look. Functional but classy. Yours seems to be in pretty good shape too. I'd put that in the SCORE!! column.

....thanks Bob. It was quite dirty when i got it. When i hooked up the speakers it was so scratch it scared the crap out of me. Worse ive ever heard. I guess it wasnt used in some time,i was told....but a little cleaning does wonders. I need to invest in Polish. Then the units will look new....randy
