I have a pair of SDA SRS 1.2TL that I may need to sell due to not having a large enough room to accomodate for them. Does anyone know a good place to post? Possibly ebay? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Has anyone try to ship these before? I was curious to see how much the shipping may be. I have all the original boxes as well as packaging materials.

After 75 more posts you could sell them here, nothing wrong with trying Craigslist, I have had luck there finding stuff. I wouldn't make nonsense posts just to reach that 100 as its a matter of trust here, and most members avoid a hit and run sale. Hang out participate gain some trust and make some friends then maybe some one would show an interest, good luck.Home Theater

Thanks guys. I appreciate it so much!!! I've been on this forum reading a lot of great things regarding these vintage speakers when I upgraded the tweeters. I appreciate the info very much. I'll maybe give craigslist a try. Just feel like some people who aren't in these forums don't have the same appreciation for these speakers. I just don't have the room for them anymore when we move. Thank again everyone

not in a hurry to sell so I'll try to post on this forum when I reach my post requirements. Thanks guys

lol....did you really not know where you could sell them? I am thinking your "veiled" question there was to solicit PM's from members here. Sorta seems like back dooring the forum rules. Perhaps it's just me.....--Gary--

There are people in the US that don't have running water where they live. Some people only know of Craigslist or eBay. Can't always judge so quickly sometimes.
Also, it's not like the guy signed up this year. Hey I could be wrong... -

My thoughts as well, but they are 1.2TL's after all.

I bought a pair of SRS 1.2s that were in Florida and had them shipped to New Hampshire.
I paid a premium to have an antique shipper pick them up, examine them, and pack them. As I recall, it cost me $800, all in for the packing shipping, insurance, etc.
I don't regret it one bit and never have.
That said, I was pretty ignorant about the dangers of shipping them. I had no knowledge of magnet's shifting, for example.
You're better off trying to sell them for local pick up, but there are guys like me who are willing to pay for the shipping or who are willing to drive quite a way to pick them up.
Hold on to them, mod them, and enjoy them. It sounds like you've had them for a long while. I agree with the above comments that you have a rara avis and should keep them.
You should also post your location so tht anybody nearby can audition them and advise you.Family Room, Innuos Statement streamer (Roon Core) with Morrow Audio USB cable to McIntosh MC 2700 pre with DC2 Digital Audio Module; AQ Sky XLRs to CAT 600.2 dualmono amp, Morrow Elite Speaker Cables to NOLA Baby Grand Reference Gold 3 speakers. Wow!! that looks great!!!!

Mod them like I did with VR3 Audio!
So that'll set back a grand or more?

In response to Gary. If I wanted to post it on this forum to sell it. I would have just posted it in the for sale forum where people are looking to purchase it. I am in no hurry to sell. Just looking to get some info whether or not I can ship these or not and how much it would be. I've been a fan of these forums for a very long time just never responded to posts because I learn more from reading many great mods that people do to their Polk srs speakers. Anyways, I will take the advice and wait till my post gets the 100 and I'll try posting it on here. If not I'll try craigslist, if not, I may just keep them lol. As they are still the best speakers I've ever heard!! Thanks for everyone's input.
-
Thanks for your input!! I was curious to see how much it was to ship these monsters and if it was even possible. I hope to deal w/ someone locally anyways. But after all, I do have the original packaging materials and boxes so I feel a little more comfortable shipping them

Where are you located?

Suburbs of Chicago

Lets see.............I'm on the beach in Los Angeles
If I borrow my neighbors diesel pusher motorhome I could make it there in four days.
And about 300 gallons of diesel. Each way.
I'll have to think about it.................. -

And it's a weekend. Just get the PM sent and get it over with. If they aren't in your rig come Monday, with the requisite pictures to prove it, you may be required to surrender your Polkie card.:cheesygrin:The Gear... doesn't that always suck? my issue is I never have a car big enough at the time something shows up to get it!
I'm sure if you put them on C-list OP you will get some hits, and easily with your location. Great speakers! -
Tell you what..if you wait a year....I'll buy them and pay the shipping, depending on if the price is right...LMAO
-
I'm not in a hurry, still trying to make up my mind. I will try Craigslist out in a couple of weeks when I get a chance to take some good photos. We'll see what happens I guess. Glad to see many people still appreciate these speakers the way I do though. I've taken great care of them and have done many improvements thanks to this forum. I resealed all the drivers w/ Armaflex, upgraded caps, etc. Great speakers though!!
