Quick Question

I just inherited a PSW10 110V Subwoofer and a Surroundbar AM405511461 and don't know to much about them.

Is it possible to hook these together without a receiver?

    Take a look at page 5 of the doc you posted: http://www.polkaudio.com/downloads/m...SB42_50_MN.pdf

    It shows how to hook it up to the receiver if you don't have a sub output, if your receiver does then you would want to use that instead (which is shown on page 9).

    .....EDIT: Whoops missed the last line of your post. Looks like you need a receiver just to run the sound bar...

    Thanks for the advice, just didn't know if this sub would power the surroundbar.

    I doubt it, You "Might" be able to hook up the composite audio out from your tv to the sub, then run the speaker outs from the sub to the right and left front of the sound bar. Chances are the subwoofer amp isn't going to be giving you a lot of power though to power that sound bar and it's not going to sound that good. Like I said that might work, but your not going to be running all the speakers on the soundbar (missing center, and left and right surround).

    The subwoofer speaker connections are *not* amplified. They are a signal pass through that can be used to send an amplified signal to the sub that is passed through to the speakers. The sub amplifier *only* powers the sub.

    Thanks again, also it there a place to buy a preassembled wire harness for the surroundbar? All my wires have been cut.

    Good to know, I had a feeling this was the case, but wasn't sure.

    OP, not sure what you mean by a wire harness. If you had a receiver to hook up to you would have a wire going from a speaker out on the receiver to an in on the sound bar. You can just use a regular spool of speaker wire to do this, nothing special is required. Depending on the receiver you got it may have a subwoofer out on it, which would run to the sub low level inputs, if it doesn't, the sub would be hooked to the front left and right speaker outputs and the outputs on the sub would go to the front left/right on the sound bar.
