OK..having said that, i think there are a lot of issues involved here. Just to throw them altogether, you need, a good , warm high current power amp with 200 watts, tube's some place in the mix..I have a Jolida tube cd player..and a large room to place them in. Now how loud you play them and what kind of music..may have some effect on this also. I play pretty much classic rock, anything from CSN, to Zappa..and i do sit 15 feet back an play this stuff pretty loud.
Now with the right equipment..these speakers are not bright..you can sit for hours without fatigue.
Now they are NOT SDA's..no tower speaker is. They don't have the open airy type feel or sound of SDA's.
But they are for sure not lacking in bass..it's there in spades. Nore do they sound bad at all in any respect. The sound stage is big and wide..but..not SDA type...but again..no tower can come close to the SDA sound. It would be interesting to put the Caver sonic hologram stuff on these speakers..see what they sound like...LOL
The only problem is i do have SDA's...so it's tough to judge these speakers against them.
The only thing i can say is..these are very good speakers for 2 channel music...IF you have the right equipment and the room for them. For tower speakers used for 2 channel stereo, i think there very good. Just my opinion on them.

The room plays a big part on them for sure. In my den they sounded way to hot in the high end. My living room on a pioneer sc27 they sound great!Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

I like to listen to music/concerts on mine occasionally with just an SC-35, but agree the room plays a huge part. They really are great speakers when setup properly!
