LSi system upgrade??

Guys, got some wonder questions for those that know. I've recently gotten interested in the LSi series of speakers and I am debating upgrading slowly. I've about decided on some LSi15 towers from all the reviews I've read plus I believe my 2250 should move them quite well! Also, is placement difficult for these with the side-firing woofer?

I really do 90% music and 10% movies, but I do really want a surround system because I LOVE the theater sound and experience! Will I even notice a difference in this area swapping from the RTi's?

I'm really liking the idea of better musical speakers!

Also, will my Onkyo be able to push a 4 ohm center and 4 ohm surrounds??

Lastly, some may suggest going on to the LSiM series, however that will be impossible in my budget for quite a long time!

I can't comment on the gear part of the question, but I had 4 LSi15s and a LSiC HT/surround sound system for years. Over that time it was driven by a Sony 5000ES, Denon 3805, Sony 7100ES, and finally added a Sunfire TGA5400 amp to the 7100. I greatly enjoyed each phase, and never had any issues. However, it is in a small room with an 8 foot ceiling.

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
    Three 20 amp circuits.

The best way to know would be to see if you can hear them for yourself in a demo setup. Since the LSi line is discontinued not sure how easy that will be. I haven't heard the RTi's you have so I could not say about sound difference. I'm sure someone in the fourm can give you an answer to that question. What I can say is for me the LSi's are amazing! Music sounds the best but movies also sound good. If you do get the LSi's, placement should not be an issue unless you have a huge room. I have a 7.1 setup and not all my speakers are LSi but the LSiC and LSi FX were a pain to find so it may take a few months to locate them. The amp you have should good and even though its an older one I'm sure it's better than my entry level emo. Hope this helps and good luck with the upgrade if that is what you decide to do.

Snake, do the deal with ZTLFUL, you will be glad you did.

My wife loves my LSi's we listen to them all day everyday mostly for TV and never get fatigued at all.

We watch movies and the impart more than enough impact for us and sound AWESOME.

I dont regret skipping the RTI's and going straight to the LSi's even though I dont do tons of listening on this system. The listening time I do get on this system however is glorious.

I can't make that deal happen right now. Too much distance between he and I.

I find that the LSi's work well for both HT and music although you may have to boost the center a little. The LSi15's have good bass and they work very well for music but if you want a slamming HT, you need a good subwoofer.
